LOCAL SOCIAL GROUPS

SVAB supports local social groups throughout Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Each local group arranges its own programme of events to suit the tastes of its members. SVAB helps with the costs of room rentals, transport and refreshments when needed.

If you are interested in joining one of our groups in your area, please telephone the SVAB office on Shrewsbury (01743) 210808, or email us at SVABadmin@shropshire.gov.uk, and we can provide contact details for the local organizer.

Our office is normally staffed on weekday mornings. If there is no one to take your call, or you are calling outside our normal office hours, please leave your name and telephone number and we will phone you back.

Outline information about each of the local groups:

• Our Oswestry group meets at the Christchurch Coffee Room, Oswestry on the first Tuesday of each month
• The Market Drayton Visually Impaired Club meets at the Methodist Church Hall, Clive Road, Market Drayton on the first Wednesday in the month
• The West Telford Group meet at Meeting Point House, Telford Town Centre on the first Thursday of the month
• The Newport VIPs meet at Cornmel Lea, Newport on the first Tuesday each month
• The Shrewsbury Group meets at Cross Hill Court, Shrewsbury on the first Wednesday in the month.
• The new Ludlow Group meets at the Helena Lane Day Centre on the 2nd Monday of the month.
• The Bridgnorth Group meets at the Baptist Church, Bridgnorth on the last Thursday in the month
• The South Shropshire VIPs meet at Mayfair House, Church Stretton on the third Thursday of the month
• The Insight Group holds regular meetings for a younger age of people and meets at various venues in central Shropshire
